SRP public rate making process is underway

  • Last month, SRP began their new public pricing process.
  • The first SRP board meeting considering the rates for solar generation customers was this past Monday, and AriSEIA members attended to participate.
  • There are four more meetings that the public or stakeholders can attend.
  • Customers can submit comments, questions and feedback about the proposed pricing changes any time throughout the process. It is recommended that all comments be submitted by 5 p.m. on March 15.

ACC joins Comprehensive Electricity Planning Task Force 

  • The ACC announced today that they are joining a country-wide initiative of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) and the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO).
  • Arizona will be among 16 other states on the task force, which will work to improve distribution system and resource planning processes.
  • Arizona representatives will include ACC Chairman Bob Burns, Policy Advisor Steve Olea, and Arizona State University Professor of Practice in Utility Law and Policy Kris Mayes.

Navajo Nation hosting town hall meetings to discuss Navajo Generating Station (NGS)

  • The Navajo Nation Office of the Speaker is holding two town hall meetings this Saturday and Sunday to discuss potential plans for NTEC to acquire NGS.
  • The first meeting will be he’d from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hardrock Chapter house, and the second meeting will be he’d from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kayenta Chapter house.
