Battery Storage

Commercial Battery Storage to complement Solar PV in Arizona is in its infancy. With the July 2013 changes in the E32L tariff to sustainably increase demand charges while significantly reducing usage charges electric users on this tariff are good candidates for using battery storage to optimize their energy bill.

Systems with batteries can be installed at remote locations that are not served by the grid, and can be more attractive than power from generators with the accompanying noise, pollution and refueling and maintenance needs.  Maricopa County installed the largest such system in Arizona at their Buckeye Hills Shooting Range.
