The Arizona Solar Energy Industries Association (AriSEIA) is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic candidate to serve as Executive Director. AriSEIA is a 501(c)(6) non-profit trade association representing the solar and storage industry, solar-friendly businesses, and others interested in advancing solar and storage technologies in Arizona. The group's focus is on education, professionalism and promotion of public policies that support deployment of solar technologies and renewable energy job growth and creation. As Executive Director, you would oversee aspects of the organization’s operations including staff/contractor management, policy advocacy and development, membership and outreach, fundraising, program implementation, and more. Base salary to commensurate with experience, with opportunity for commission-based compensation. This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Qualifications:
Responsibilities: Staff •Manage all paid or contracted staff, propose goals and objectives and drive programs •Plan monthly Board and staff meetings, send invites, track attendees, follow up on outstanding action items •Register and staff booths at events to promote AriSEIA membership to businesses/ Policy •Demonstrate and communicate strong understanding of key issues and AriSEIA’s positions on those issues •Monitor policy issues and regulatory filings (Arizona Corporation Commission, State Legislature, cities, building authorities, media, etc.) •Lead policy strategy development, work with board members to develop and draft positions, create editorials and testimony, meet with elected officials and additional stakeholders •Provide periodic updates to members on policy issues and AriSEIA activities Membership/Fundraising •Oversee membership recruitment, retention, and activity including networking events and periodic meetings •Seek grants and funding from individuals, government and foundations •Increase active volunteer base to work with staff •Develop fundraising events such as dinners or luncheons with volunteers •Organize annual conference and recruit sponsors •Schedule speaking invitations at other organization events and benefits to promote AriSEIA and develop new relationships with businesses and other non-profits Board Directors •Create yearly calendar (planning tool) that includes scheduled board meetings, annual conference, annual board retreat, anticipated board elections, membership meetings, and any other events or meetings to be scheduled •Work with President to develop proposed budget •Coordinate with Board Treasurer for all accounting matters •Meet with prospective board directors, work with Board President to create organizational committees such as elections, updates or proposed changes in bylaws, annual conferences, and any other items as needed •Report to Board President weekly, and Board of Directors at monthly meeting, or memo updates Please send your cover letter and resume/CV to Brandon Cheshire at [email protected].
