Navajo Nation leaders met with representatives of the Trump administration to discuss a deal before the current owners of NGS begin decommissioning
  • Earlier this month, President Russell Begaye and Council Speaker LoRenzo Bates met with representatives of the Trump administration to discuss a deal as closure of the plant looms.
  • The Navajo Transitional Energy Company is exploring options to buy the plant after two companies decided to drop their bids in September.
  • The plant will be shut down at the end of next year unless a new owner can be found.
