City of Flagstaff releases draft Climate Action Plan, requests input
  • In case you missed it, the City of Flagstaff Staff released a new draft of its Climate Action Plan last week and seeks stakeholder input.
  • The Flagstaff City Council will continue to review the Draft Plan at two upcoming work sessions: One on October 9th and one on October 23rd.
  • The plan includes recommendations and strategies in several areas: natural environment; water resources; energy; transportation and land use; waste and consumption; public health, services, facilities and safety; and economic prosperity and recreation. For example, the Draft Plan includes a strategy for the City to meet 100% of municipal energy use through renewable energy by 2025 and to adopt a policy requiring 100% of new light-duty city fleet vehicles to be electric vehicles, meet high-efficiency standards, or use alternative fuels by 2020.
  • Additional information can be found on the City’s website or you can contact Jenny Niemann, the City’s Climate Staff Lead, at JNiemann@FlagstaffAZ.gov.
